Day 19 Au revoir au sud de France

On our last day at IRSEA, we received a few last presentations on Friday morning on:

-nasal stem cells research used in navicular syndrome

-feline pain scale for oral diseases, presented by a final year vet student

-pheromones used by snails to protect themselves from beetle predators

It is inspirational the support and encouragement IRSEA puts into the next generation of Veterinarians and Research scientists providing a platform for them to pursue their interests. The diversity of the above topics all had an underlying foundation of upholding a higher standard of animal welfare and a one health concept.

With a bit of travel ahead to return to the states, we said our goodbyes. It was an incredible trip and experience both in and out of the classroom.

Penn Vet looks forward to hosting Dr. Patrick Pageat from IRSEA and Dr. Paolo Dalla Villa from IZSAM this fall for some exciting presentations so keep an eye out for dates and times!

A huge thank you to our Penn Vet faculty support Dr. Carlo Siracusa and Dr. Thomas Parsons, everyone at IZSAM in Italy and IRSEA in France. This trip would not have been possible without all of their support!

Until next year, Au revoir!
