Day 12 was sadly our last day at IZSAM. We were asked to present on what we took away from experience this year and suggestions for future visits. Giorgia Canulli, Stefano Messori, Laura Arena, and our very own Dr. Siracusa were in attendance to listen to our input. We greatly appreciated all the time and effort that went into planning and teaching us this year! We also appreciated that IZSAM listened to our input from last year incorporated our suggestions into this year’s program. The addition of the connection with the University of Teramo’s Vet School, which was a suggestion from last year, gave us a great perspective on veterinary training in Italy and we loved meeting the students and professors from the school. After our presentation, we were joined by Giovanni Savini, the Scientific Director of IZSAM, who encouraged us to not just appreciate the academic exchange but the opportunity for cultural exchange as well.We have much to take back with us when we return to PennVet.
